I’m Mark

an international yoga teacher who specialises in handstands.

My very first handstand was 8 years ago, when I was living at a Shaolin Kung Fu monastery in China. I immediately fell in love with handstands.

For the past 5 years, I’ve been passionately teaching handstands to yoga practitioners. My experience has allowed me to distill the essential elements that make up a solid handstand. Why did I create this course?

As an international teacher, I'm on the road a lot, and only see my students a couple of times a year. This online handstand course was born out of my desire to nurture a supportive relationship with my students, even when I'm not around. It allows me to provide continuous feedback, which reduces the likelihood of developing bad habits and enables me to cheer my students on along the way.

  • How does this course differ from other online courses?

    The uniqueness of this online handstand course is the combination of an elaborate 6-week video course with dedicated online coaching and a supportive community.

    There are no other programs like this.

    You'll either find 1) cheaper online video courses that provide zero personalized guidance or 2) more expensive coaching options that lack clear video explanations. In both cases, you're pretty much on your own, as these alternatives miss a supportive community.

  • Is previous experience in handstands, yoga, or a certain level of fitness required to join the course?

    I've designed this online handstand course for complete beginners and for those who can kick-up already, but struggle to find balance without the wall.   • I’m not afraid of doing handstands, I just don’t have the right technique or determination. Is this course for me?

    Absolutely! During the first 6 weeks of the course, we'll take a close look at the right handstand techniques and build a strong foundation for your practice. We'll also address mindset, motivation, and how to work towards continuous progress.

    During the online coaching, I'll personally guide you and hold you accountable as you work your way to your handstand goals. I'm always just one click away! You'll also receive an invitation to join The Handstand Academy's closed Facebook group where you can connect with me and your fellow students.

  • How much commitment is needed for this online handstand course? Can I fit it into my busy schedule?

    My recommended time investment is 5 days a week, with a minimum of 30 minutes and a maximum of 60 minutes a day. To develop a stable handstand in the middle of the room, it's important to have a regular practice. Life happens to everyone and it's fine if you skip a day, just don't let the all or nothing approach derail you from your practice.

  • What if I begin and can’t pull it through? Can I get a refund?

    My refund policy is really simple: if you don't like the course you can just get your money back (up till 30 days after your purchase).

    Within this market, it's very common that people will offer you only a refund if you "do your homework", or something ridiculous like that. I don't want to do that. You can just get a refund if it's not a good fit, no matter what the reason was.

    Valid reasons for a refund include:
    - You didn't have enough time... -> money back.
    - You don't like the way I teach... -> money back.
    - You don't notice any improvements... -> money back.
    - You enroll, but next month you're short on cash. It was unwise to enroll given your financial situation... -> money back.

    To get a refund, just email me at mark@markdas.com, and I'll take care of it myself. Because I use Stripe, a refund takes up to 10 days to be executed and get back into your account.

  • If I don’t start together with others, won’t the community always be one step ahead or behind?

    Everyone starts on their day of enrollment, meaning you and your fellow students may be at different parts of the online course. Those who started before you serve as your inspiration and you will be an inspiration to those who start after you.

    Essentially, a handstand practice is an individual practice and everyone starts at a different level based on past experiences. My main aim is to develop a community of likeminded individuals who support each other on the road to unlocking a proper handstand.
