WHERE WILL WE STAY?

We will stay at a serene eco resort situated on a hill close to a charming black sand beach with a spectacular view all around. The sun rises over the ocean and sets behind Mount Agung, with a beautiful display of colours. The resort's pool has a plant filtering system and vortex inlet to avoid large amounts of chemicals.

There are 5 luxurious shared rooms and 6 simple single rooms available. All rooms are made from local materials and provide good ventilation. Since it's an eco resort, there is no air conditioning. All rooms are equipped with fans. You will find organic soap and shampoo in the bathroom and we kindly request you not to use chemicals because the shower water gets recycled for watering the garden.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are freshly prepared and served buffet style. Most of the ingredients are freshly grown at the eco resort. Non-alcoholic drinks like tea, fresh coconut water, fruit juices, smoothies, and kombucha are included and can be ordered unlimitedly throughout the day.

HOW TO GET THERE?

Book your flight to Denpasar International Airport, also known as Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS). This is the main airport in Bali. From Denpasar you can take a taxi to the resort, which takes roughly 2.5 to 3 hours. Although airport transportation is not included I can help you arrange transportation to and from the resort.

I recommend you arrive at the resort on the between 12:00 and 17:00, so you can get settled in. On the first evening we will have dinner together and get to know each other. We leave the resort around midday.

Retreat About.jpeg

My name is Mark das.

As a yoga teacher, I’m passionate about the art of hand balancing.

My very first handstand was 8 years ago when I was living as a monk at a Shaolin Kung Fu monastery in China.

For the past 5 years, I’ve been passionately teaching handstands to yoga practitioners around the world. My experience has allowed me to distill the essential elements that make up a solid handstand. I now present this system to my students — both online and at yoga teacher trainings, international workshops, festivals, and weeklong retreats.

During my Bali Handstand Retreat, you learn both how and why we perform handstands a certain way. Besides balancing on your hands, you’ll deepen your understanding of human anatomy and biomechanics related to handstands. As my student, I encourage you to always be proactive, think critically, and ask questions.

While developing your handstand practice it is invaluable to receive direct verbal and physical feedback. I’m happiest seeing my students thrive and prefer to teach in a setting that allows for personal attention. This is why my retreat is limited to a maximum of 16 students.
